I designed English language learning courses for a Russian-speaking audience, focusing on self-study. A strong learning experience was essential, as users needed to grasp the material without teacher supervision. To achieve this, I designed various self-study task mechanics and created templates for those tasks.
I reviewed the content prepared by methodologists for the course, conducted research to identify best practices in educational products, and collaborated with the team to create a list of essential mechanics. These mechanics were designed with future courses in mind, ensuring reusability and consistency.
While designing the UI, I adapted existing design system components to fit the new mechanics, ensuring a consistent look. I worked closely with the development team to integrate all these mechanics into the overall Storybook as reusable components.
In a short period, I developed a functional tool for building an English for IT course, designed to allow easy reuse of mechanics for future courses.
